For Consistent & Accurate Measurements:
Have the patient stand with their back against the Heightronic!". They should have bare feet, heels close together legs straight. Ask the patient to Stand tall, take a deep breath and look straight ahead. Lower the head beam to touch the crown of patient’s head and note your measurement.
The Heightronic offers five measurement modes:
1/16: Measurements are displayed in sixteenths of an inch, and black bars just right of the fraction are used to indicate increments above the indicated value. Each bar represents one sixty-fourth of an inch.
1/32: Measurements are displayed in thirty-seconds of an inch, and black bars just right of the fraction are used to indicate increments above the indicated value. Each bar represents one sixty- fourth on an inch.
1/64: Measurements are displayed in sixty-fourths of an inch.
Decimal Inch: Measurements are displayed in inches to the closest one-thousandth inch.
Centimeter: Measurements are displayed in Centimeter to the closest one-hundredth Centimeter.
To convert between Metric (CM) and Inches & Fractions (IN):
Scales with no output capabilities Press the mode key, (IN) will be displayed to indicate inch mode and fractions. (CM) will not be displayed in centimeter mode. * Scales with output capabilities, Press the mode key, (IN) will be displayed for inches and fractions, (CM) will be displayed in the centimeter mode.
To Lock the Heightronic
so that nobody can change the current setting: Press and Hold the ON/OFF key and quickly press the Mode key, if you don’t press the mode key soon enough you will turn the display off. Release both keys at the same time and this will lock the unit. Repeat same procedure to unlock unit. Only the ON/OFF and mode key will operate in the locked setting.
Should an (Err) message appear in the display:
Unplug the connector from the display for 30 seconds, then plug back into the outlet, this serves as a reset function. Check batteries and change if needed. (Low battery can cause Err message) Check the calibration and calibrate if necessary. Moving the headboard to fast can cause Err message.
Scale Maintenance:
adjust the movement of the headboard, Tighten all four screws evenly until headboard moves up and down freely without falling, then turn the top screw ¼ incremental turn for fine adjustment. Due to wear periodical adjustment is necessary. Clean the aluminum track daily with a damp cotton cloth and lightly lubricate track and bearings with Silicone lube to keep the headboard moving smooth. When cleaning acrylic parts use a cotton cloth towel and CADCO Anti-Static Plastics Cleaner. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Changing the Batteries:
Remove the two screws on the cover of the display housing, Pull off the cover, Remove the batteries. Reinstall new batteries, Noting the proper origination shown in the battery compartment. Replace the cover and tighten the screws. Note: The copper battery clips are designed to tighten down when cover is screwed into place.
* To send data to a computer:
Push the black button in the upper right corner of the digital display box. When the computer cable is not connected to the display box the black button becomes a hold button which allows you to hold the data on the digital display. To unlock hold, press the button a second time this will bring the numbers back to the true position on the scale. When sending data to a computer, only millimeters or inches can be sent.
